Monu #15 Post-ideological Urbanism

The American writer Derek Walcott once noted, “culture, we all know, is made by its cities”. In the past, cities played a vital role in shaping their elite’s dreams and hopes. But in modern society, ideologies are scarce and cities no longer play a key role in setting today’s trends. In the latest issue of ‘Monu’, Wouter Vanstiphout, Patty Heyda, Thomas Ruff, and Robin van den Akker reflect on how they see their urban surroundings change as we enter the threshold of an era of post-ideological thinking.
